Ingredients
1 package (12 oz) King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish and place the King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls in it, arranging them in a grid pattern.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon together. Spoon the cinnamon mixture over the top of the rolls, making sure to coat each roll evenly.
- Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the sugar mixture is bubbling.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the icing. In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
- Once the rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and drizzle the cream cheese icing over the top while they are still warm.
Notes
- Don’t overbake the rolls. Keep an eye on them after 15 minutes to avoid overbrowning.
- Use room temperature ingredients for the icing, especially the cream cheese, to get a smooth texture.
- Feel free to sprinkle chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for added crunch and flavor.
- This recipe works wonderfully as a brunch centerpiece or a sweet treat to share with friends and family.
